Legal Assistant - Estate Planning & Business Practice
The Legal Assistant will work closely with the firm’s attorneys to manage and support the firm’s estate planning practice, while also assisting with real property and business formation matters. This is a client-facing role, and the ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide clients through both routine and sensitive legal processes with clarity and professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in estate planning, real property, or business formation/management
- Demonstrated experience drafting legal documents and managing client files
- Strong organizational and time management skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong drafting and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational, logistical, and problem-solving skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft estate planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and trusts
- Manage estate planning files from intake through execution
- Prepare deeds, easements, and road maintenance agreements
- Draft operating agreements, bylaws, and other documents related to business formation and management
- Coordinate document signings
- Maintain organized and accurate client files, including tracking deadlines and task completion
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to keep matters moving efficiently and accurately
