Join artist Ginger Huebner for an unforgettable workshop where you’ll create an abstract self-portrait using the playful and accessible mediums of collage and chalk. This is not about “being an artist” or having technical skill; it’s about tapping into your own voice and perspective in a way that feels both freeing and transformative. Every participant leaves with a beautifully framed piece they created—plus the joy of having shared a creative journey that celebrates our shared humanity. No art experience needed. All materials (and encouragement!) provided. ​ Ginger Huebner is a visual artist, educator, and creative facilitator with degrees in Architecture (Virginia Tech) and Art Education (The University of the Arts, Philadelphia). Founder of Roots + Wings School of Art and Design in Asheville (2009–2023), she now works from her own studio offering classes, retreats, portfolio coaching, and professional development for educators worldwide—all rooted in cultivating authentic connection through creativity. She is Program Director for Horizons at Carolina Day School, an A+ Schools of NC Fellow, and a teaching artist with Mississippi Whole Schools and TAPAS (Asheville City Schools Foundation). Ginger also advises PBS on arts education for the Pinkalicious series and other platforms. Her TEDxTalk, “Conversations Beyond Words – Translating Life through Imagery & Color,” curated as an Editor’s Pick on TED.com, reflects her lifelong mission to inspire connection through creative expression.
