SUMMARY:Come Back to Play - Session 6: Play in Movement
DESCRIPTION:About The Come Back to Play Series\n\nAs adult responsibilities and routines take over\, time for play is something many of us leave behind. Our goal is to experience play as children do: with curiosity\, connection\, freedom\, surprise\, and a sense of adventure. Play reduces stress\, fuels creativity and problem-solving\, strengthens social bonds\, and promotes happiness. You are never too old to create opportunities to bring play back into your life.\n\nOver the following five Wednesdays from 12:00–2:30 PM\, each facilitator will guide you in experiencing play through their unique modality. We look forward to sharing the joy of becoming like little children as we Come Back to Play together.\n\nThese free events are offered through White Horse Community Hub. Registration is not required (except for 9/2 Painting Play- See event page for registration details). Doors open at 12pm for 1 hour of light refreshments and time for connection\, and each workshop will begin at 1pm.\nSchedule:\n\nAugust 12 -- Introduction to Come Back To Play: A Weekly Series\n\nAugust 19 -- Child’s Play with Janet Taylor\n\nAugust 26 -- Improv Play with Mondy Carter\n\nSeptember 2 -- Pass The Painting with Alison Press\n\nSeptember 9 -- Piano and Drum Playshop with Daniel Barber\n\nSeptember 16 -- Play in Movement with Victor LaConti\n\nSee event pages for each date for more details.\n\nAbout the Event:\n\nPlay in Movement with Victor LaConti\n\nThrough fun\, interactive games\, movement challenges\, and exploration\, Victor invites us to reconnect with our bodies and regulate our nervous systems through play. This session encourages us to move beyond tension\, rediscover ease and freedom in our bodies\, and cultivate greater awareness of the physical\, physiological\, and energetic aspects of ourselves. By approaching movement with curiosity rather than performance\, we create space for resilience\, connection\, and joyful self-discovery.\n\nBring comfortable clothes and a beginner’s mind. Have fun while developing new neural pathways that support us in navigating the world in a more relaxed and confident way!\n\nAbout the Facilitator:\n\nVictor LoConti is a musician\, builder\, outdoor enthusiast\, and advocate of play in life. He will draw from 30 plus years’ experience on the path of martial arts\, health and body work including Aikido\, Tai Chi\, Systema\, Breathwork and Reiki amongst others.
